Took a picture of this boat half filled with water on a winter's day. I struggled with the negative space so reverted to collage and it became a fun painting.

The collage technique produced interesting textures-looks good.
Thanks Ron. The collage process gives me the freedom and breathing space I need to continue on with the watercolors.
