Untitled Watercolor on Canvas

I find the darks are very hard to establish on the watercolor canvas.

Unknown Artist - Watercolor - 7 1/2" x 11

This is a quick study, trying to simplify my forms. The subject was participating in the Originals Only last summer, I had little to do (sales were non existent) so started taking pictures of the different artists. Think I will pursue this a little more.

Hattie - Watercolor - 12" x 18"

Did this one a few months ago but not entirely happy with it. Hattie was one of the senior member's of the Thursday Group. She is now in her 90's and managed to make it to my last show.

Sybil's Garden - Acrylic

I used to belong to the Thursday Group. We
met at the home of Sybil Andrews, one of the original members of the Futurist Movement in England.

Phil - pastel

Did this a few years ago. Phil was a great model, could sit for an hour and never move - amazing.

Bates Beach Boat - Watercolor Collage

Took a picture of this boat half filled with water on a winter's day. I struggled with the negative space so reverted to collage and it became a fun painting.

Arbutus Study #3 - Acrylic

Being surrounded by a group of Arbutus trees is a delightful experience, the color and form are very inviting.

Down's Point - Acrylic

There is an artist preserve on Hornby Island where this painting was inspired. The ocean winds transform the trees.

Arbutus Study #12 - Watercolor

I love the forms in the Arbutus trees. This is an ongoing exploration.
